In March 2020 Dudley CVS took on ownership of the Brierley Hill Civic after a formal asset transfer from Dudley Council. The transfer secures the iconic Brierley Hill building as a vibrant community hub and live entertainment venue for many years to come.
Since taking on the day-to-day management of the Brierley Hill Civic in February 2015, the venue has been reinvigorated with a new lease of life, drawing in crowds with an impressive line-up of comedians, performers and bands, both locally and from around the world.
Since 2015, we have encouraged local artists, entertainers, performers, residents, as well as schools, colleges, voluntary groups or charities and businesses, anyone from the community with a great idea to use this space to host their activities or showcase their skills.
“In August 2019, L&F held our 3rd Annual ‘knees-up’ for Teenage Cancer Trust at the Brierley Hill Civic. The two previous years we held our events at much smaller venues but after outgrowing those venues we decided to make the leap and hire a larger venue. We couldn’t have been happier with our choice. James and the team at the Civic were amazing and helped us out so much. With the setting up of the room, putting us in touch with a great sound engineer and ideas for different things throughout the night. We had a raffle, auction, disco and a live band on the night with 250 people in attendance. The evening was a fantastic success and we raised £6032.74 for such a worthy cause. But I truly believe this amount wouldn’t have been raised without such a fantastic venue and amazing members of staff. I couldn’t recommend this venue enough.” Luke Hall, L&F
